MEET THE RAM COLLECTIVE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - TODD EAKES:
“The Ram Collective is honored to partner with Nationsbest Football. Bob Smith and his organization has been dedicated to helping student athletes for the past 15 years - long before what has now become the Name, Image, and Likeness landscape. It’s this dedication to the betterment of these players along with Bob’s impressive background, skillset, and expansive network that sets Nationsbest Football apart as a well known thought leader in the current world of all things NIL. We are excited to partner with Bob and Nationsbest Football for many years to come!”

alphabeats and The Ram Collective launch innovative NIL partnership focusing on mental fitness for Colorado State University athletes
alphabeats, a leader in mental performance technology, has joined forces with The Ram Collective, a newly formed Name, Image, and Likeness collective supporting Colorado State University athletes. Together, the companies are helping CSU athletes build their personal brands and businesses, while also equipping them with alphabeats’ tools and resources to enhance their athletic performance.
The partnership, one of the first initiatives for The Ram Collective since its October 10th launch, represents a new frontier in NIL programs. By focusing on mental fitness – an often overlooked aspect of athletic training – this collaboration addresses a critical need in athlete development.
"This partnership with alphabeats sets the standard for how we want to approach the marketplace," said Todd Eakes, Executive Director of The Ram Collective. "We're not just brokering deals, we're investing in our athletes' development. alphabeats' expertise in mental fitness makes them an ideal partner for this pioneering program."
Participating CSU athletes, including prominent members from the women's basketball team and football team, will integrate alphabeats' mind training program into their daily routines while sharing the journey with their social media communities. alphabeats’ program fuses popular music with advanced neurofeedback technology to deliver short, HIIT-like "mental workouts" that enhance focus, cognitive performance and recovery.
"In the fast-growing NIL market, quality and authenticity are crucial,” said Jorrit deVries, CEO of alphabeats. “Our partnership with The Ram Collective exemplifies this, offering students performance- and life-enhancing opportunities that also prepare them for long-term success in athletics and beyond."
The partnership, which was facilitated by alphabeats partner and Nationsbest Football's CEO Robert Smith, comes at a pivotal time for CSU athletics, as the university prepares to move to the PAC-12 conference. By prioritizing mental fitness alongside physical training, CSU athletes will be well-positioned to face new challenges and compete at the highest levels.

The Ram Collective, LLC (TRC) officially launched its membership association today.
Comprised of former Colorado State Ram athletes from all sports, TRC seeks to connect its members with current CSU student athletes to help them grow and thrive in the new era of Name Image Likeness (NIL) in collegiate sports. In addition to networking and mentorship opportunities, TRC has the ability to broker NIL deals and partnerships with all current Ram players.
“Everyone agrees the landscape of college athletics is changing and, as former players, we’re excited to give back to today’s student athletes,” said TRC Executive Director Todd Eakes. “We’re uniquely positioned to broker NIL deals and sponsorships for our players in a way no other collective can.”
Currently, the only way for most businesses or individuals to connect NIL deals directly with players is through third-party sites like Opendorse, which charge as much as $0.33 on the dollar to join players to opportunities. “Were significantly lower than that amount,” Eakes said. “And we can provide a far more curated experience, as we already have the connections and relationships with the players.”
Colorado State University’s official collective The Green and Gold Guard was started in 2022 by current Athletic Director John Weber. Since that time, Eakes has recognized the need for an additional, independent collective to further support CSU athletes “The Green &Gold Guard has done a fantastic job ushering CSU into the NIL era, however their primary focus is working with charities,” said Eakes. “It’s not uncommon for big time college programs to have two – or even three – different collectives operating at the same time, each focused on a specific niche.”
As CSU prepares to move to the PAC-12, we can’t think of a better time to launch than now.”
